EFFECTIVE-SILVERGUARD™ is an antimocrobial agent. It is safe and efficient in diminishing odors, promoting freshness and extending the life cycle of a product by attacking bacteria and other destructive microorganisms.

HOW IT WORKS

Silver ions engineered into the unique chemistry of SILVERGUARD are highly effective against bacteria because they destroy microorganisms through multiple paths. Silver guard attacks the bacteria cell wall, disrupts protein metabolism within the cell, and forms complexes with other biomolecules in the cell to alter cell functions. These ions are slowly released out of their inorganic matrix in the presence of moisture. SILVERGUARD is released as needed to effectively control bacterial growth, while leaving sufficient quantities of SILVERGUARD to retain antibacterial protection.

When caught quickly, most everyday stains like grease, blood, suntan lotion, crayon, ketchup, and black felt tip pens can be wiped right off vinyl treated with PERMABLOK3. Just use mild soap and water. For more stubborn stains, a variety of concentrated and solvent type cleansers may be used without damaging the surface. These include alcohol, naphtha, and bleach. CDC Cleaning Guidelines

Contaminated environmental surfaces account for much of the spread of germs and bacteria in healthcare environments, so it’s important that Spradling customers know how to properly sanitize these surfaces to help prevent the spread of microorganisms and communicative diseases.

There are a number of factors to consider when disinfecting an environmental surface, e.g., whether or not the disinfectants are registered by the EPA, proper maintenance of cleaning materials, and cleaning procedures around patients with immunodeficiencies.

Care and Cleaning Guide

Step 1 (eye shadow, mascara, grease, black felt tip pen, crayon, chocolate, suntan lotion,

hair and body oils*): Remove excess spill with a damp cloth. Clean with a 1:1 mix of Ivory®

liquid soap and water. Next, rinse with clean water and dry.

Step 2 (red lipstick):

Use a straight application of concentrated cleaners such as Formula 409® or Fantastik® spray

cleaner. Wipe with a clean cloth, rinse with water, and dry.

Step 3 (blood, urine, feces, oil base paint, tar, and asphalt):

Use a 1:1 mix of ammonia and water, or a 1:4 mix of bleach and water. Rinse with clean water

and dry.

Steps 4 & 5 (all other tough stains):

Step 4: Use a straight application of naphtha (lighter fluid). Rinse thoroughly with clean water and

pat surface dry.

Step 5: Use a 1:1 mix of isopropyl alcohol and water. If the stain persists, use straight alcohol.

Rinse thoroughly with clean water and pat dry.

Note: For cleaning that requires step 4 or 5, use a soft cotton cloth saturated with the cleaning

material and rub the stain in circles 10 times. Pat dry with another soft cotton cloth and check

the results.

*Must be cleaned after each instance of exposure to hair and body oils.
